Welcome To The First SeaLab

Welcome to the First Frank Orth & Associates SeaLab. We intend to publish the newsletter once a month.

The goal of this newsletter is to unite us and to keep you informed. Frank Orth & Associates has employees working in Kirkland, Seattle, Newport, OR, and Long Beach, CA. This newsletter will hopefully help us stay connected with one another.

What will be in the SeaLab? Well, there will be some work information such as, policy changes and reminders, employee updates, other important information that we all need to know.

But we want SeaLab to be more. We want to find out about the people at Frank Orth & Associates.

We want to find out about you.

We also would like to know what you would like to see in SeaLab. Want to have a football pool? Want to organize a ski trip? Want to know if any body else would be interested in a hike? Would you like to share Christmas ideas? All suggestions are welcome and greatly appreciated. So send us your ideas.

Polices and Procedures Update

Recently FOA met with representatives from NOAA and NMFS and discussed some polices and procedures that need to be more consistent.

Timesheets: Timesheets need to reflect the time you start and stop working. The timesheets need to show the amount of time that you take for lunch. All timesheets must have your project leader’s signature, approving your hours, and per diem if you have any.

Finally timesheets need to be submitted on time and each pay period that you work.

Work Hours: Contractor employees are not permitted to be on site when the building is closed, unless another government employee, preferably your project leader, is also present.

Email: NOAA has requested that all FOA employees sign their email as Frank Orth & Associate Contractor Employees, and not as representatives of the US Government. When sending email from government facilities, it needs to pertain to official government business only.

Computer Usage: NOAA provides a computer and internet access for all contractor employees. Please make sure that your use of government property and internet usage is restricted to fulfilling the requirements of your task order.

Overtime: You are not permitted to work overtime unless you have prior approval from your supervisor.

If you have any questions, concerns, or comments on these items please contact Gene Gordon at (425) 828-6577 or geneg@provantagesoftware.com
